Well that's strange. Even if I set Finder to show hidden files and folders I don't have that folder.
Using Spotlight to search for 'CoreServices' and 'DefaultDesktop.jpg' doesn't bring any result. Anyway, I was told a solution from someone else. Always the picture named Sierra.jpg in system folder 'Library/Desktop Pictures' will be used for blurred login screen background. So all you have to do is to rename the desired wallpaper to Sierra.jpg.
However, this still is no solution for an unblurred wallpaper. I also recognized that the login screen at system startup has a different background (Sierra.jpg) than the password request screen that appears after my monitor went into sleep mode while I was absent.
That simply shows a blurred version of my desktop's wallpaper. If i create powerpoint triggers in wondows, will they work for mac. The picture file com.apple.desktop.admin.png in system folder 'Library/Caches' seems to have no function at all on my system.
Tried this myself. The file in /System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg is an alias that points to /Library/Desktop Pictures/Sierra.jpg. When I attempted to remove or replace the alias, I got a system message saying “DefaultDesktop.jpg can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by macOS.' When I tried deleting the Sierra.jpg, or naming my desired background into 'Sierra.jpg' in the same directory, the alias breaks, and now my login screen is solid black. When I attempt to locate the original file through the alias, it gives me the option to fix the alias, but when I attempt to do so with my desired image, I get an (error code -36) message. That's about where I'm stuck at currently.
