Lync For Mac Video Greyed Out
Hi, This one just came up on, How can I change the “Show Lync in foreground” Setting for all my users using GPO. While some settings are provisioned for Lync, this is one you can edit in the Registry. The way Lync is working for me, at least, is that if I start a conversation with someone, then go off to a meeting and come back to my desk to resume the conversation, Lync has assumed that our conversation was finished, and therefore I have to go back into History to figure out where our conversation left off. Other IM clients maintain what is essentially a continuous infinite history on a per-user basis, so that when I’m chatting with someone, I can scroll back to reference stuff that we talked about earlier in the day, yesterday, or any time in the past. This seems like on oversight on Microsoft’s part, but maybe I’m just too dumb to find the appropriate configuration option to enable this feature.
I run the latest Lync on Mac 10.8.2, but the audio and video icons are greyed out, why? How can I fix this? I have Lync installed on my Mac 10.8.2. Hi Tom, When I used MS Communicator, I was able to used CommunicatorHistoryViewer.exe () to save my IM history locally, but now that I am using Lync 2010, that program does not work. Do you happen to know why it would work with Communicator, but not with Lync? Maybe something in the programing would need to be changed. Do you happen to know of a stand alone (3rd party program) program or plug-in that would work to capture Lync history locally like CommunicatorHistoryViewer.exe did for MS Communicator?
