I'm actually curious to know if it reminds you of Calendar appointments as well. I would like a persistant notification for that. For example, I have a recurring event in my calendar to remind me to give my dog her heartworm and flea protection every month on the 1st, at 5:00 pm. But if I'm not home at 5:00, I would like the notification to remain active, so that I see it every time I look at my phone. That way I won't forget when I'm actually home later. The current notification system did not allow for anything even remotely close to that, and it drives me crazy.
On my Android phone, I could just leave a calendar reminder alone, and it would leave an icon in the taskbar (which served as my reminder when I looked at the phone). I'm actually curious to know if it reminds you of Calendar appointments as well. I would like a persistant notification for that.

If I can sync my work tasks through Outlook through Exchange, I don't see any reason why we can't through Gmail. But honestly, it doesn't do anything for me that I can't already do it GoTasks. Locations reminder sounds cool in theory, but it was causing significant battery drain.
I could see myself using it for a very specific reminder, but for the most time, I like the flexibility of Google Tasks.
By on in,,, Google Gets Serious about To-do Lists; Introduces New Google Tasks Apps for iOS and Android Google finally seems to be getting serious about ‘Gettings Things Done’ and is realizing the importance of “to do” lists in today’s day and age. The company is today introducing a major revamp to, along with fresh new standalone apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. These apps were introduced alongside, which will be rolling out to G Suite customers as well as personal Gmail users in the coming weeks.
Until now, Google Tasks always seemed like a side-product that was quite neglected. It was well integrated with the core Gmail experience, but since it was only limited to the web, it left a lot to be desired.
It was also insanely confusing, with an age-old 90s-like UI that felt totally out of place in 2018 and involved your tasks confusingly appearing in Google Keep and Google Calendar, and at times, in Google Assistant. Today’s announcement is a major update to both the Gmail experience as well as Tasks.
With these new standalone apps, you now have handy access to a simple, barebones (for now) list of your tasks in one place. You can quickly make modifications on the go and also get notifications for tasks that are nearing due. Your tasks obviously sync across all your devices instantly and will be integrated with the core Gmail and Google Calendar experience. Lovely Animation When you Swipe on a Task The Google Tasks apps also sport features like subtasks, ability to create additional lists to categorize your tasks into, ability to create a task directly from an email in Gmail, drag and drop support for setting priority and if you’re a G Suite customer, you can also “leverage Google’s AI to bring data insights and analysis to every employee”.
