Citrix Workspace app for Mac provides users with self-service access to resources published on XenApp or XenDesktop servers. Citrix Workspace app for Mac combines ease of deployment and use, and offers quick, secure access to hosted applications and desktops.

Before launching your application through Blackbaud Hosting Services, each workstation must have the Citrix Receiver installed. This third party component allows your workstation to launch your Blackbaud applications from Blackbaud's environment.

A common question regarding the installation of the Citrix client includes determining the appropriate version of the Citrix Receiver to install for your machine (whether MAC or Windows). This solution discusses the steps needed to identify the version of Citrix installed on a workstation and to install Blackbaud's most recommended version of Citrix for your Operating System. How do I check the version of Citrix Receiver? What version of Citrix is installed on my computer? Where do I go to install the recommended version of Citrix? Am I on a compatible version of Citrix?

How do I update Citrix to a recommended version? Note: We currently recommend Citrix Receiver version 4.8 to 4.11 for Windows users and 11.9 or higher for Mac users. Citrix Receiver version 4.12 was released for Windows machines on June 4th, 2018. Blackbaud is still testing this version for compatibility; while this version may allow you to connect, we do not guarantee full compatibility. We suggest using versions 4.8 to 4.11 to ensure complete compatibility. For users in the Blackbaud SKY environment, we recommend Citrix Receiver version 4.10 or 4.12. • On a Windows machine: • In the bottom, right-hand corner of your desktop, locate your system tray (small arrow next to your clock).

Once Install Disk Creator opens ( Figure A), click on the top drop-down and select the correct USB drive to be used. By default the tool will select your local drive—do NOT use that drive for the installer. If your Citrix installation needs to be updated to a Blackbaud-recommended version ( Citrix Receiver version 4.8 to 4.11 for Windows users and 11.9 or higher for Mac users): • Uninstall the current version of Citrix on the workstation • NOTE: You must restart the computer after the uninstall • On a Windows machine: • First, ensure that Citrix is not running in the background: • Open the Task Manager.

• Browse to the Processes tab. • Right-click and select to End Process as follows: • If your Windows Task Manager looks similar to this, end any instances of the following processes: concentr.exe, wfcrun32.exe, and Receiver.exe • If your Windows Task Manager looks similar to this, end any processes with Citrix in the name as shown: • Log into the computer as a Windows user with Local Administrator rights.

• Open the Windows Control Panel • Select Uninstall a Program, or open Programs and Features • Locate the Citrix Receiver or Citrix Online Plugin application in the list of installed programs. • Right-click on the entry in the list and select Uninstall. • Download and install Blackbaud's recommended version of Citrix for your Operating System: • Download directly from the Blackbaud Hosting Services login page: • Open your browser and navigate to your datacenter's URL: • Boston: • Orange County: • Vancouver: • Sydney: • Europe: • Click on the link for ' Windows' or ' MAC' to download the appropriate version. • ​​ • Once downloaded, if the Installer does not start automatically, run the file. • NOTE: When running the installer, if you receive the message 'This version of Citrix Receiver is not the most recent version,' you are already on a supported version and no further action is needed. Click OK to exit and skip to Step 5. • Once installation is complete, click Close or Finish (depending on your Operating System).
